Tax Strategy
Keep €90,000of every €100,000the company makes
Bulgaria’s corporate tax is 10%. Take the rest as a dividend and a further 5% applies, so €4,500. We put the residence and the company in place so that rate is yours.
Worked example
€100,000 of profit. Two very different outcomes.
- Corporate tax at 10%
- €10,000
- Dividend tax at 5%
- €4,500

Where structures fail
The rate is the easy part.
Most people stop at “Bulgaria is 10%.” Then their old country still treats them as resident, the company is really managed somewhere else, or profits are taken out in a way that changes the result.
That is why tax strategy comes before incorporation. We test the personal position and the business position together, then decide whether Bulgaria is worth doing at all.
See how this fits into the 10/10/10 Method™ →A Bulgarian company on its own does not change your tax position. Your residence, the company’s management and the way money reaches you all have to support the same answer.
The diagnostic
Six questions decide whether 10% is real.
We answer these before recommending a move, so the plan is built around the weak points rather than the headline rate.
Can Bulgaria become your tax home?
We test your ties, timing and when a Bulgarian tax-residence position can realistically begin.
Will your old country still tax you?
Exit rules, remaining ties and treaty tie-breakers are reviewed before Bulgarian savings are modelled.
Where is the company really run?
Registration is not management. Where decisions are made can change which country taxes the profit.
Salary or dividends?
We model how profit reaches you against your own figures instead of defaulting to one method.
What happens to payroll and social security?
If contributions or payroll apply, they go into the numbers from the beginning rather than appearing after the move.
Will the structure work day to day?
Residency, company, banking and administration are aligned so the paperwork matches how you actually live and operate.
Who it works best for
Income that can genuinely move.
- Independent earnersOften from roughly €40,000 a year
- Owner-managed businessesOften from €100,000+ in annual revenue
- Founders & consultantsEspecially where the work already runs online
- Relocating familiesWhere one partner owns or runs the business
How it works
You see the number before you commit.
Your time on this should be hours, not months. We do the modelling and sequencing; you make the decisions.
Map where you are now.
Your residence, income, company and the country you would be leaving.
Test Bulgaria.
What can move, what cannot and where a treaty or management issue changes the result.
Build the plan.
Residence, company, remuneration and banking in the order the law and practical setup require.
Keep it aligned.
As the business changes, we keep the facts and structure pointing in the same direction.
Before you start
The questions that usually decide it.
For fees, a consultation is €495 and a written tax plan is €1,995. See pricing →
Is 10% a special scheme I have to qualify for?
No. Bulgaria’s standard corporate income tax rate is 10% and the general personal income tax rate is 10%. The important question is whether your residence, company management and income facts support Bulgarian taxation in your case.
Do I have to live in Bulgaria?
You need a defensible Bulgarian tax-residence position. Day count, permanent home, centre of vital interests and treaty rules can all matter. A registered address and a few nights in Bulgaria are not enough on their own.
What if I only open a Bulgarian company?
A Bulgarian company does not automatically change your personal tax residence. Depending on where the business is actually managed and operated, another country may also assert taxing rights.
How do I take the money out?
A dividend distributed after Bulgarian corporate tax is generally subject to Bulgaria’s 5% dividend tax for individual shareholders. Salary is generally subject to 10% personal income tax and social-security rules may also apply. We model both against your circumstances.
What does tax strategy cost?
A consultation is €495. A written plan is €1,995 and covers your exit from the current country, Bulgarian tax residence, company management and the certificate of tax residence process.
Worked examples and client figures are illustrative. Tax outcomes depend on individual circumstances, applicable law, treaties and how the structure is implemented and maintained.
